Olofsson: Green jobs - a solution to combat recessionKasyanov comments the ELDR results

While Barroso, along with Sarkozy, Brown and Merkel envisage new regulations for financial markets and more influence over businesses, Sweden's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Enterprise, Maud Olofsson (in the picture), has called for a "new vision" to tackle the recession.
Referring to the possibilities of creating new jobs in the fields of renewable technologies and research as part of the process of tackling climate change, Olofsson commented  "While I see the climate crisis as the big threat for the future I also see it as a golden opportunity – she intervened during a debate in the European parliament - I think here you have - not the answer - but some of the answers to how you can give hope to people that are unemployed."
