Successor of ANO sees light in Slovakia

The delegates of the civic-liberal party LIGA (League) have elected former Slovak Minister of Economy Robert Nemcsics as their party leader.

The LIGA party's founding congress that took place on Saturday 28 February focused mostly on LIGA's internal procedures and the elections for the leadership and different political committees.

The party has been founded with the liberal heritage of the New Citizen's Alliance ANO in mind. Kristiina Ojuland attending the congress on behalf of ELDR expressed the wish to see a colleague from Slovakia in the next European Parliament's liberal group. LIGA has applied for membership with the ELDR Party.
