Stefan Wallin Re-appointed Leader of Svenska Folkpartieteldr, Monday 14 June 2010 17:07 ::
Finnish Minister for Culture and Sport, Stefan Wallin, was last weekend re-appointed as Party Leader of Svenska Folkpartiet for another year at the party’s congress which took place in Tammerfors, Finland. The Congress discussed other important issues, including the so called 'Kasnäs Manifesto' as well electing a trio of deputy party leaders, comprising two new additions as well as one re-election. Mrs. Anna-Maja Henriksson MP and Mrs. Christel Raunio represent the former, and Mr. Nils Torvalds the latter, ensuring continuity in the party leadership together with Minister Wallin. The Congress also comprised an interesting lunch debate co-hosted by SFP and ELDR on European issues with ELDR Vice President Lena Ek MEP, Carl Haglund MEP and Minister for Europe and Migration, Astrid Thors. ELDR congratulates the newly elected party leadership and looks forward to working together with them, particularly in view of the annual ELDR Congress, which will be co-hosted by SFP in Helsinki/Helsingfors on 13-15 October 2010. With the new leadership in place, we are positive that it will be a highly successful event. |
