On 15-16 May 2010 the seminar "European Charter of Local Self-Government Implementation in Lithuania" will take place in Vilnius (Lithuania). The seminar is organised by the Liberal Movement of the Republic of Lithuania in cooperation with the ELDR Party and with the support of the European Parliament.

The seminar is designed to discuss the implementation of conditions, principles and traditions of the Charter of Local Self-Government in Lithuania; to identify and analyse the most significant problems of Lithuanian self-government; and to search for effective ways to solve them based on best Lithuanian and European practices through working group discussions.

The seminar is organised for party members working in self-government institutions, elected to ruling bodies of self-government by Lithuanian people and for those who are interested in self-government in Lithuania and who seek to improve it with regard to the principles of the European Charter of Local Self-Government.

This event will take place in the framework of the ELDR Political and Information Activities scheme. To find out how your party can organize a project under this initiative please contact Robert Plummer rplummer@eldr.eu
