Italia: IdV Congress – Europe, Freedom of Press and fight against Mafia first!

Panels on Energy, Mafia and Security, Italy in Europe, Freedom of Press and internal discussions with the heads of party and info points; over 1500 people attending and more than 30 special guest participating in the public debates. The Congress of Italia dei Valori (IdV) in Vasto, Italy, has been a success.

“We have never received such a wide consensus and participation from Italian citizens and party members” the staff commented.
ELDR took part with a stand and a message from Annemie Neyts, ELDR President. European immigration policy, Barroso’s new mandate and nuclear power were the topics that raised more interest amongst the people coming to the information stand of the European Liberals.
Antonio Di Pietro, leader of IdV, Guy Verhofstadt MEP and ALDE leader, Sonia Alfano MEP; Luigi De Magistris MEP; Niccolo Rinaldi MEP; Leoluca Orlando MP and Virgilio Dastoli, former assistant of Altiero Spinelli were the prestigious personalities present at the Fourth National Meeting. Pictures
