The Liberal Democrats (UK) gathered in Bournemouth for their party conference this week to lay out their plans for fighting the next general election (which must take place by next June at the latest). Discussions focused on areas such as climate change and energy policy; ensuring civil liberties; how to improve the state of the economy; and Britain’s role in a globalised world. Ahead of the UN climate conference this December Nick Clegg, Liberal Democrat Party Leader, described climate change as “the greatest challenge of our age” saying that “the summit must agree an international plan of action”. |
