ELDR Vice-President Kristiina Ojuland MP, who visited Slovakia on 28 February, supports the candidature of the Free Forum party leader: "In the current day's economic crisis, we neither need old-fashioned recipes from the left nor populist answers from the right. Liberal solutions based on common sense and responsibility can help us find a way out. Mrs Martinakova offers Slovakian voters a credible third choice, a liberal choice." The ELDR Bureau is looking forward to have a closer cooperation with Mrs Martinakova, her party Free Forum and with other liberal forces in Slovakia. Ojuland: "The country needs liberal choices. The election of the liberal candidate Mrs Martinakova would be a first step in the right direction."
