Watson-Di Pietro on compatibility of EU and Italian law

During a two day visit to Brussels, Antonio Di Pietro, Leader of ELDR member party, Italia dei Valori (IDV), discussed with the leaders of the ELDR Party and ALDE group in the European Parliament a coherent and harmonious political strategy for the European Elections.

Annemie Neyts, President of the ELDR Party, and Di Pietro discussed how a joint visual electoral campaign can be promoted in Italy in the upcoming months in view of June's elections.

Graham Watson, leader of the ALDE group in the Parliament, and Di Pietro yesterday participated in a cross-party debate on "Conforming to the norms of European justice: the case of Italy". The discussion focused on the compatibility of Italian and European law, making reference to the Alfano law and phone tapping.
