A liberal “chef d’orchestre” for 2008 EP closing event

In the framework of the European Year for Intercultural Dialogue, Claire Gibault (MEP) will conduct a Europe-wide musical event on 16 December 2008, at 8pm, in the Schweitzer Auditorium of the Palais de la Musique of Strasbourg, as a closing event of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

In order to celebrate Europe in all its richness and diversity, Claire Gibault wished to bring together for a Berlioz concert the Slovak Philarmony, a choir of 200 children coming from various European Union countries (Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Great-Britain, Italy, Poland, Spain), the Italian opera singer Anna Caterina Antonacci and the French altist Arnaud Thorette.


This concert will take place during the last European Parliament plenary session of 2008 and will be live broadcasted on the television channel Mezzo in 39 countries, as well as on France Inter and on other European radio stations.
