Denmark should choose to join the Euro but it needs a referendum, said Anders Fogh Rasmussen in opening remarks to the journalists on the first day of the European Liberal Democrat's annual Congress in Stockholm.
Plied with questions by the journalists attending the press conference, Rasmussen answered that 2011 could be a possible date for the referendum. “The Euro ensures political and economical stability in Europe and the current financial turmoil makes it evident that Denmark has to join the Euro”.
“The cost of staying outside the Eurozone is clear - he concluded – even when the Danish crown is in narrow fluctuation band with the Euro. But it is sure that we have to pursue the same monetary course”.
