Annemie Neyts discusses Norway’s European policyeldr, Saturday 5 May 2007 14:00 ::Annemie Neyts, ELDR Party President visited Norway on 7 and 8 May to discuss the prospects of Norway’s accession to the EU with Venstre, ELDR Norwegian member party. She will meet the party leadership (President Lars Sponheim and Vice-Presidents Olaf Thommessen and Trine Skei Grande), the central board of the party, Anne Margrete Larsen (MP, foreign affairs committee) and Øyvind Eggen (leader of Venstre's international committee) and NUV, the liberal youth organisation. Venstre joined the European Liberal Democrat political family in October 2000. It got 5.9 % of the vote at the last general elections and currently holds ten out of 169 seats in the parliament. ELDR calls for the return of good neighbour relations between Estonia and Russiaeldr, Friday 4 May 2007 16:00 ::After violent protests, Estonia relocated a Soviet war memorial from the centre of the capital, Tallinn, to the main military cemetery on 26 April, earlier than initially foreseen. Recognising that this monument is revered as a symbol of sacrifices in World War Two by many people, the Estonian authorities have planned to organise an opening ceremony for the memorial on 8 May in presence of the members of the Estonian government and allies of the Second World War including Russia.
