ELDR fully behind the Constitution

Ahead of crucial votes in France and the Netherlands, Liberal Democrats all over Europe are delivering their pro-EU message and campaigning to bring the Constitution into force. They support the EU Constitution because it will contribute to making the EU more open, efficient, effective and democratic. Discussing the added-value of the Constitution, ELDR Party President Werner Hoyer said: “The Constitution brings together the achievements of European integration of the last fifty years and paves the way for a more democratic Union by giving a bigger role to the European and national Parliaments and by giving EU citizens the right to ask the Union to launch new initiatives.
