More respect for the European Stability Pact

support@globulebleu.com, Wednesday 16 October 2002 17:27 ::

Urgency resolution adopted by the ELDR Party Congress in Bath (UK), on 18 October 2002

The ELDR Party is concerned about the recent political debate with respect to the European Stability Pact.

We are especially concerned about the official position of Germany, France and Italy since these countries have a particular responsibility for the stability of the Euro. We invite the governments of Germany, France and Italy as well as the European Commission to fully respect both, the letter and the spirit of the Stability Pact.

Any weakening of this important instrument would undermine the acceptance of the Euro and therefore demolish the stability of the currency.
