In a crude logic he suggested that Estonia should not try to stick to the 3% threshold of a budgetary deficit in order to fulfill the criteria for the adoption of the Euro. Why am I a liberal?

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Ok, why i’m liberal?

Firstly - because i believe that there is no development without freedom. That’s the most important thing in the liberalism. I believe that people should be free not only because it’s effective in economy etc., but mainly because it’s fair.

Secondly - I’m against welfare state, etatism, and bureaucracy. We don’t need social benefits - what we really need is economic freedom, low taxes and less influence of state in our own life.

Thirdly - the freedom of speech and freedom of thought are sacred and political corectness mustn’t be a justification of restriction our freedom of speech.

Liberalism FTW!
